FLVS Student Part of USA Synchronized Swim Team!

Fourteen-year-old Victoria Woroniecki is a new member of the U.S. Women’s Synchronized Swim Team. While the homeschooled student is too young for this year’s Olympic team, her father says she is determined to be on the 2020 team. She recently performed with the U.S. Synchronized Swimming National Team in Times Square, NYC.

Local athletes take 6th place in team at U.S. Age Group Synchronized Swimming Championships

Federal Way, WA (June 27-July 2, 2014)—Members of the Flagler County Synchro Belles synchronized swimming team come from Volusia County, Flagler County and St. John’s county. They earned 6th place in the Age Group 13-15 Team Routine event at the 2014 U.S. eSynchro Age Group Synchronized Swimming Championships last week. Nearly 1,000 athletes ages 11 to 19 competed in the competition held June 27-July 5 in Federal Way, Washington.

The team routine of Lexi McMillin, Courtney Ryan, Elyse Hinman, Chiara Longo, Victoria Woroniecki, Alyssa Trent, Paige Arezeiga and Mackenzie Martin beat 31 teams from around the country to place sixth place in the 13-15 age group National’s competition.

Other members of the team also achieved success at the championships, including:
Age Group 13-15:
• Lexi McMillin, Cassandra Gubala & Victoria Woroniecki finished in 4th place with their Trio
• Lexi McMillin & Cassandra Gubala, finished in 7th place with their duet
• Cassandra Gubala, finished in 12th place with her solo
• Elyse Hinman, Alyssa Trent & Paige Areizaga finished in 13th place with their trio
• Courtney Ryan & Victoria Woroniecki tied for 14th place with their duet
Age Group 11-12:
• Mackenzie Martin – finished in 7th place for her solo
• Mackenzie Martin & Madison Martin finished in 9th place with their duet
• Madison Martin, Grace Weed & Natalia Kurdziel finished in 14th place with their trio

The U.S. Age Group Synchronized Swimming Championships is the final competition of the season for the team. Practice for the 2014-2015 season resumes in August 2014.

Synchronized swimming requires a unique combination of strength, agility, endurance, flexibility and speed. The Flagler County Synchro Belles practice at least 3 hours per day,3 days per week at the Belle Terre Swim & Racquet Club. Elite-level synchronized swimmers typically practice eight hours per day, six days per week.
